I didn't realize until I saw the movie that "To the blood bank" is just him talking to himself. He wrote this movie as part of his little kid tough guy fantasy and could have delivered that line in any context he wanted to, and we end up with a crazy man whispering threateningly to an empty room. The only "good" line was when the storekeep says, "I've got half a mind to.." to the thug, and the thug responds with "Now all you got is half a mind".
